Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Paquin, who was raised in Wellington but was born and bred in Winnipeg became an actor on screen in The Piano. At age 11 she was the youngest Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. When she answered an open call for auditions, she won the role as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a mute Scottish piano player who moves into New Zealand in mid-19th-century to marry. At the time, she was nine, and she had no acting experience. She moved from New Zealand to United States as a teen. Paquin has a tiny part as the title character when she was a child on Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and an important role in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 film adaptation for television of the novel written by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding and played the role in the role of Queen Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenagers as part of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and also played in the role of the polexia Aphrodisa girl in Almost Famous (2000).
